Has anybody been able to purchase a MSD optispark yet.Jegs and Summit both have them on backorder. My daily driven LT1 camaro puked its opti on friday and ive been trying to locate one all weekend. The less time my Vette spends in my work parking lot the better. If anybody has any sugestions please send them my way. Thanks

I am not entirely sold on the MSD optispark.

Seems like a lot of marketing and not a lot of improvements.

I have heard a lot of good things about the Dynaspark. You could get one of those probably right away. The Dynaspark is very different from OEM. Check them out.

Save The Wave! :w

I'm awaiting the ones I ordered as well. I reordered the LT1 cap and rotor kits and were told they were on backorder, but they arrived in two days after that from my warehouse. Summit may not get them as fast due to their continued flouting of MAP pricing (MSD is getting VERY tired of that!), so I wouldn't look to them anytime soon.

As soon as I receive stock, I'll post a note in my folder and here letting CAC'ers know when they can get them, and the special CAC price.

LT4man... I wouldn't say MSD is a lot of hype... they're a VERY good company (I've dealt with them for over 15 years now), with excellent customer service. They are quality conscious, and won't throw out a product until it's 100% ready to go. Plus... the Billet LT1 Distributor (as it's called) has the capability for adjusting ignition timing, which is a very big plus for tuners and end users.

My wifes 94 LT1 TA went thru two opti-sparks before the shop realized that there was a bad plug wire, a kiss of death for the GM opti-sparks, GM in I think 1995 upgraded to a vented opti-spark with a vacuum line kit that you can purchase from several places and do take some sealer and go around the front seal to help keep mostiure out as I replaced the water pump, plug wires and the optispark at the same time and did the mod's and I know have 60,000 troulbe free miles. When you change spark plugs BE CAREFULL when you pull on them.

Went ahead and bought another GM opti and installed it this weekend.Jegs is supposed to get their MSD opti's in on 3/22, but i didnt want to wait and have to drive the Vette to work another week.(which now im going to have to do anyway) After the install the car ran great, better than ever, but after going about 7 miles(with the whole family in it)the car just died again and wouldnt start. After the tow home the car started right up and ran great again. So its back to the drawing board.Any body have any thoughts on this. Thanks in advance.
