Have a 92, and want to keep the LT1 outlets, but want a great sound.
Borla @$570.00/pair, vs. Dynomax @ $300.00/pair.
The cost does not bother me, I just want a Great sound.

Your inputs please.
Thanks

Here's my 2 cents worth: my 87 Coupe had the passenger's side muffler really busted up, plus the rear Y-pipe had more holes than swiss cheese. With no cats it sounded loud but had no resonance inside the car. So I went and bought from MidAmerica the Walker Y-pipe with balance tube and a pair of Dynomax High Performance mufflers. Resonance inside the car was unbearable in the 1600 - 2200 rpm range. With the 700R4 tranny and 3.09:1 gears, this rpm range was cruising speed. It was driving me nuts:hb . So I went to a friend's muffler shop and he welded all the joints and discarded the clamps holding the system and also installed a Dynomax 3" resonator where the main cat used to live. Now resonance, while still there, is not as loud. (Now I can hear my wife nag about my driving;shrug ). I added some sound/heat barrier matting under the rear deck carpet and it helped a little bit more. You must remember that at any given rpm's the sound will be different if the engine is under load or not. In my case, at 1600 rpm's it will sound different if I am going uphill than it will sound if I am driving in a flat section of the road. It will help if you can ride in a similar Vette with Borlas or any other brand of muffler over a wide rpm range to get an idea of how the sound will be. It is a pity to invest hard-earned money on a system that maybe will not fulfill your expectations. Remember that the sound outside the car when it drives by is definitely not what you will hear inside the car.
Good luck.
