Will, It has been a while since i posted but i have been working alot. Let me catch yall up on a few things. I put the new motor and clutch in the vette about 6 months ago. Still runs kinda ritch and idel is still rough, and i still cant figure out why. And suggestions?

Last week i was on my way to work about 6:30 A.M. and I was procedding to putt out of a local McDonalds resturant and was in the right lane of the exit, that was clearly marked to go right and as i was about to tur and truck comes barelling into the left lane and decides that silver corvette didnt need that front bumper and front cornor of hood.

Needless to say he was very apoligetic and no damage was done to his big truck so he paid for all damage (insurance paid). Well now to the good part. I am a personal friend with the owner of the local body shop and he told me for an extra 2k he would paint the entire car. And I will be the 1st to tell you that the body shop has alot of work ahead of him.

So the car is currently being painted right now.

My polised rims were starting to show there age. So I talked with a buddy who owns a ship yard and a prop shop and he told me that he had no problem letting me come in on the afternoons and using his specialty polishing equipment to refinish my rims.

So as of now all i need is the new seat covers and a new shift nob along with the shifterboot, and some tires. Plus i am having the vette put on the computer to figure out what is cousing it to have a rapid increase in RPM's and why it will die out when it is cold and also why it runs rich.

So if you have any suggestions for the fallowing parts or problems i am having please help me on where is the best place to get them or some mechanical things to try to fix my baby!!!!

Thanks,
David

Glad to hear from you. Not glad that your car was cracked up though. Hopefully it will all work out in the end. I am sure the car will look really good. The computer should give you some helpful info in trying to trouble shoot the rich condition. The erratic idle could be a vacum leak, or maybe an engine relay.

Good Luck, and keep us informed on the process.

P.S. It would be neat to take some pics while the shop was working on it, then you would have good memories, and could share with us.

Sorry to hear obout the jealous truck driver :hb I had a similar problem with my '86. Idle was jumping from 400 to 800 , turned out to be the o2 sensor. hope this helps.:s
