Its finally done!!!!!
:dance
I, in the begining, lifted my car to check the rear and trans fluid.
Of course that opened a can of worms. There was something loose in the drive train that would make the tranny lift when I dumped the clutch or drove it hard. Well I found a loose bolt on the rear trans to the long tranny brace to the rear end. I though cool but was not convinced it would get rid of it.
Then, I see the Y-pipe is cracked, on both sides. DAMN!!! So I order a new stainless steel one.
So I think while the cars in the air ( on ramps all 4 tires) Ill try to install my new Crossframe. It doent fit!!! DAMN!! DAMN!!!
I call R&D Racing and it turns out that Mid-America ( where I bought it from) did not include the 84-85 adaptors. Not a prob and R&D will send the parts....today....free...:dance
SO things are looking up. The Y-pipe comes in so I begin install after putting GM syncromesh fluid in the Richmond 6-speed, and topping off the rear end. Exhaust installs easy
Then the Crossframe parts come in. Install was time consuming but not very hard thanks to great instructions (thanks R&D Racing)
So today I took her for a test drive.
WOW!!!!
The car is tight, no more tranny hop, and feels like it has more torque!!! I drove a lot today and cant wait for work to be over to drive more.
Total down time 2 and a half weeks ( way to long)
Special thanks to R&D Racing for great customer service!!!!!
