My Callaway is gone, gone into the safe hands of the transporter, Thomas Sunday Inc. Since he is only a few miles from my house and I am heading out to Chicago tomorrow for some R & R before Bloomington I ran it over to him.
Very nice operation.
In talking to him (Thomas Sunday) found out he used to race in the old Corvette Challenge series.

Note to Mr VonHa: our Callaways will be bunk mates on the trip to Bloomington and they are individually clothed with a nice cover while on the trip.

Any ideas who he's picking up in Long Island? I guess I'll get to see when he gets here on Monday. See you there!

Mine leaves tomorrow on a different carrier - I know Callaway4Fun's car got picked up, early this morning and both of our trucks head to NY - I know a few dealers are loading them up with cars - sending them to the auction :cool

He's picking up a couple of cars from Kevin McCauley(spelling) the famed Corvette restorer

You guys really went all out. Mine leaves at 7am tomorrow morning by small private transport. ;) I should be arriving in Bloomington some time Wednesday afternoon.

On another note - If anyone is staying at the Pheasant Run and would like to swap a room with two double beds for one with a king drop me a note. (I have the king but can't change it because they are sold out.) I thought I was bringing my girlfriend but she got stuck working this week. My Dad is coming with me instead.

I know someone that has a spare couch in their trailer if you and your dad wanna flip a coin. ;) :L

Kevin, make sure your "carrier" checks the lug nuts and tire pressure - I found 6 or 7 that were loose and 2 tires a bit low...

You can use the sofa, if you help haul it to your room :upthumbs

See ya there :w

I packed a case of Yuengling in the car. I checked with the airline and I mighta had a problem with that as a carry-on. :( :beer :_rock

Is anybody driving their car? I just couldn't be comfortable about turning my prized car over to someone else to take across country, even if it is just to Chicago. How do you guys do it and sleep?

I'm not trying to be a wise guy. I just would seriously be a nervous wreck from the time my car went into the trailer til I had it in my possession again.

Tom

Tom,

Actually, I feel much better knowing it is in good hands, not exposed to the elements, and most importantly I can actually sleep while it gets transported. When I drove up to Carlisle from S. Florida 2 years ago it was hard to get a good nights sleep when I pulled into a roadside Hotel knowing someone could just steal it and head off on the highway.

My car left Callaway today along with a few other cars :Steer

See you all Wednesday (or Thursday depending on when you get there).

:cool

Bloomington, 3 days and counting!

It may not be replaceable, however, the car is named "additionally insured" on their insurance certificate (I've got a copy). We've got an agreed value if for any reason there is a catastrophic loss and it should be nicely taken care of. Yeah, it's my baby-- but another is out there somewhere!

I see your point. I don't feel safe leaving my car out in the hotel lot either.
