Couple of you were wondering what the PowerEffects sound like, esp. with headers. Now's your chance to find out... Movie is about 6 megs, quicktime format. I didn't get above ~3500 RPM. My daughter wants you all to know that she operated the camera :).

The car still has a full cat on it; I'd expect more noise with a gutted one.

Hopefully I have enough bandwidth available for this...

Oh, and PowerEffects is most definitely still in business... www.powereffects.com. Call them; their website isn't good for much else but the phone number...

Sounds great. I may look into the PowerEffects I am getting close to that stage in the restoration of my 86.

Great, Rich!

Good to know the headers are working, too.

I saw the trees you knocked down, into nice fireplace-sized bits.

It was worth the d/l of QT and the re-install.

It sounds almost as good as my vette:D. Just kidding, it sounds really good. You make me want to order those muffler eliminators, and go make some drive by vids...

Man, WhalePirot, yours still sounds better! Was that when you had the same headers I've got?

The firewood... heh... my wife's been complaining about the tree sitting on our neighbor's property for two years now. So they finally clean it up when? The day I break out the camcorder...

Man yours has a nice little rumble to it, kinda like saying to the other cars "come on, I dare yah" nicely done.:upthumbs :_rock

Thanks! I remember when you first posted your sound clips, thinking how nice yours was. Still playing with my timing a bit so the sound might change some.

Rich: Vette sounds greats

Motorman: Your '86 it's coming really good. Post your completion pictures!!

Aw, shucks, but thanks. I think my cam is more aggressive, which gives it the rasp and the lumpy idle.:_rock

No, these are TPIS; their 3" system including Flows. It is also with the stock CAT which is now 'resting' while I test. I am checking into a video shoot now. :cool

Also just had her our for a quick run past the beach and into Newport. I have never had the 'new' car past 100; did a quick leap to 120 with great ease. A quick calc with the new gears, usind the tach shows the car should reach 180. I think I have the power to pull to it, too. :D

Film at 11. :w

You'll be doing that film showing you hitting 180, right? :)

I need to get some footage from inside the car using the camera mount. Maybe when I get to the drag strip.

Oh theyre still in business, but good luck getting their system right now.

Thanks, it is coming along slow. And thanks to the C.A.C and it members I have learned alot about my first vette and how to put it together. Trying to get it together for June and bring it up to Bowling Green.

Vader86 I see you are in Baton Rouge. I,m just across the river in Denham Springs. We will have to get together and get the 86's together.

I have the Power Effects cat-back exhaust on my '93. I get comments all the time on the awesome sound. I, of course, keep the butterflies wide open all the time. It just sounds great that way. I told Beth that I would close them down for the trip to BG in June and she tells me that it would be too quiet that way. LOL

What does the cat-back system cost now? The previous owner of my '93 told me it was $1500 back when he had it installed.

On another note... When I got the Vette, I noticed one of the butterflies was missing. I found the phone number and called Power Effects. For $15 they mailed out a new butterfly, new gaskets, and screws. Hard to believe that this was the only problem with the exhaust system after 8 or so years years. :)

That's too friggin' weird! If you look at the link in your post of my quote, there's a "</B>" there that doesn't show when I go to edit the link. It didn't show when I posted it either.

I usually double-check any links I post to ensure it works; I must not have done that in this case. But then, what have I done right lately - nothing! :hb

Thanks Mic.
