One of my coworkers has a 64 coupe with four speed and air. She has had it since she was about 17 years old. Her father is a Vette nut and gave her sister a 65 (that she still owns), and her brother a 58 (which I got to see today as well in her garage covered in boxes!).
Cindy drove it to work. We rode in it from there to a body shop where the fellow that sprayed Killer now owns. He gave her a bid on an all over repaint and minor repairs job.
We then went back to her place, and I removed the clock for her. I took the glove box out and the driver side center console trim panel and was able to reach these two crazy little tabs that released the clock.
She is going to get the clock restored.
What a nice car. Smooth, quiet, and responsive. It is basically bone stock less a interior and exterior color change. It has the cool wheels with the knock off spinners.
To top it off, we rode back to the office in her 2000 SLK kompressor! Other than being new and fresh, it did not compare to the Vette.
She only drives it about 500 miles a year, so today was a rather rare event.
The last time I officially rode in a C2 was my sisters 63 coupe. It was Frank Bormans (Astronaut) old Vette. The last thing I remember is when she slammed on the brakes and I hit the glove box with my forehead (I was like 3 years old).
