White 66 vert
Well some of you know and others may from my old sig quote that I've been looking for a 65/66 vert for the last year. Well last week at the Charlotte AutoFair at Lowes Motor Speedway I found it. It's a 66 roadster, 350hp, p/w, p/s, hazards, side pipes, and just an all around really nice driver. The neat thing is that it was built sometime in the week after my dad's 66 (before xmas in 65). How cool is that. It was orginally Yellow w/black int and is now white w/ saddle int and top. Hopefully I can get the pics up for you guys... :Steer :beer.
Okay I since I don't have a place to link w/ the limits it's really to small to show. So no pics for now unless someone wants to post them for me... DAVE..

Congrats.

Can't wait to see some pcitures.

Dave that is a great looking Vette.......Looks like it just came from the showroom floor in 1966.......:D :upthumbs .....Would love to have one like that......WOW.......Take care and remember to keep the shiny side up and the not so shiny side Down......The Lawman Said That..!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool

John, That's neat man the 16th well mine was built on the 15th and my pop's on the 9th. It's the little neat things that I have always loved about the straight axles and midyears. Dave..

That is a really nice color combination! Enjoy the fun of ownership!

What a great looking Vette! THise c-2's are such nice looking cars, even after 35 years.

Good Purchase! Thanks for posting pics too.

How long did you shop before you found THE ONE.. and how many did you PASS on?
Susan had me looking up 65s last night. Year she was born. then showed her the 69 (my year). Night and Day - but both very sexy cars!

Rain,
I looked for over a year and over 20 vettes in person. I walked up on this one and knew it was the one. It's not perfect by no means but I didn't pay top dollar for it either. I could have bought others for more and not do as much or could've had to do more. I know I could have bought others for less and had to do much more. The front end has been replaced but with a correct front end (NO one piece) not that there is anything wrong with a one piece, the motor is a 62 vette motor, 65 intake, wrong bellhousing, wrong color in and out, hurst shifter, wrong side exhaust (we still are not sure if it's even vette sidepipes) etc..etc.. However the car is a blast, it looks correct to anyone that is not anal about vettes and I don't have to worry about hurting a numbers car. I can blow the engine at anytime and just drop another one in... Put it this way though I've maybe got another 1k in it from the purchase price and it has made to 200 mile plus trips with no major problems.. And tomorrow it's making another one. The only things that have broke on me so far are the brake relay, steering column ( completely rebuilt yesterday) and the top alternator bolt. I'm surprised I didn't throw the belt on the way up to VA on monday. It was fine in Emporia but by the time I pulled in the garage in Williamsburg the alternator was floppin around like a fish out of water... Sorry to be so long winded but I know that a lot of people are still looking. There is a new lead on a 65 300hp, 2 topk, numbers car in Charlotte. The pics online look good but pics are decieving.. The car was listed as 34900 and now was offered as a bit less... Dave.. Oh and I got rambling along and forgot to say thanks...
