I think they thought I might hold them up...... I was able to keep up quite well, even in the twisties. The trick was to stay in second gear and keep the revs around 5500+. The wife was white knuckling it...... I was smilin'.

Paul,

looking good - only one with any class in the C2!

Why join them for the drive in the first place, ? they clearly don't appreciate your C2. :nono

Maby it's just me, but being able to sign a large check, doesn't make someone a Corvette enthusiast

They are all Corvette people but clearly it is a different mind set for the modern Vette owner vs. the vintage owners. The modern owners don't like it when a vintage car breaks down and they get held up.

Very Nice.

Your old vette should not break down. A real corvette guy would be more than willing to help if it did. I have both late and early cars and I would never leave a vette guy behind.

Actually, these were all gearheads in the group. They were all over my car when I showed up. I would say I was very well received. It was the first time I had met any of them. Turned out to be a great time. With my "skinny" tires, compared to their's, I think I could do the longest burnout. We all had fun.
