You really cant tell in the photo but its a canvas top instead of vinyl

Here is a picture of one of the seat.

I showed the guy 2 pictures. one of a car I did not want the seats to look like. And another of how I wanted them to look.the fellow doing the work did an excellent job making the foams look as I wanted. I explained I wanted to sit in the seats not on them.

Trying to keep with the Carlilse dead line is way too close for my likings.

But it looks like I will make it,may have to do some detail work on the car in the hotel parking lot.I also was scheduled to have the car detailed on monday but it looks as thought the interiour guy will have the car all day on monday so me and the kids will have to clean it. I have hand prints on every inch of the car.

Larry it looks great. You've done a great job putting this car together and your good taste shows throughout.

Larry,

I have been putting the top on my 59 this weekend as well. This one of my least favorite jobs, I would rather take a whipping! I should have gotten it done last weekend, but Al made my top pads too short. I had the pads all installed and was putting the top on before I realized that they were too short! Arghh... Add to this, I had to rebuild my pneumatic staple gun, since it decided to go **** up after about 20 staples.

Al made some new ones that day and got them right out to me, and I got to work on it yesterday. All I have left to do is install the window weatherstrip and steam out a couple of small wrinkles today. I love the StayFast material, it is way superior to the original top material and wrinkles just melt away! It is such a rich looking material when compared to the original vinyl. I will post some pics tonight of the finished product and some process pics. Unfortunately, the top installation requires standing up for extended periods, and there is no way to sit down while doing the work, so my ankle is swollen up like a poisoned pup today!

Regards, John McGraw

Larry:

Only four more working days til Carlisle. Looks like you might make it after all. I like the side support on your seats. They look sort of like the ones we made for my wife's 62.
Just remember, there is almost always one gigantic rain storm at Carlisle, so be sure to keep a couple of highly absorbent bath towels handy in the cockpit so you can wipe up the water when it comes seeping through places you never imagined possible.

IH2lose,

If you dont mind I owuld like to sit in your seats at Carlise....I have the same seats and they are not covered as of yet....perhaps if I like the way they fit my butt, I would try to get the same guy to cover mine....what didnt you want them to look like and what did you want them to look like?

Looking very nice. I really like the canvas look.

Hope you folks have a great time at Carlisle. The Club people here are heading out on Wednesday but I will be staying behind (look for the Capital Corvette Club, Ottawa, Ontario). I have over 100 cardboard boxes to unpack at the new house. It's gonna take weeks! Where I once had all my screwdrivers neatly sorted on racks as to slothead, Phillips, Robertson, etc., my lovely Wife kindly packed them in a box labelled "screwdrivers." And I haven't found the racks yet. But she did 90% of the packing so I can't complain in earnest.

Have fun!!

I wouldn't sit in the car without someone around.....I would be terrified!!!! I will just have to find you! Leave some notes on the car letting us know where you are.....also, if you have a cell phone, could track you down via that.....

The wires are from a company called Taylor.they are in a kit form that you have to put the ends on on. I got them from this guy www.carshopinc.com I also used the taylor protector sleaves by the headers
