I let my son sit in the beast & play with the radio etc. He said he had "trouble" locking it. Used to pushing the remote I'm sure.

In any event the PKE was still ON (shows on the dash) but the remote was not doing anything as I approach/leave the car.

I thought battery, but by chance, I unlocked the pass door with the key and it started working normal again.

Nothing about this in the manual. Anyone got info?

Thanks.

replace the battery and reprogram the fob .....via the manual's instructions. If that doesn't work..... get a new fob or use the key. a new fob is about 140-150 or so......someone here will definitely chirp about the price of the fob...

Make sure the system is engaged... you can turn it on and off by pressing and holding the door unlock button until the locks lock and unlock again.

That thing drove me nuts. Besides, did not like the idea that anyone holding it can easily walk past your vette and it unlocks.
My luck, I'll loose the keys in a mall and some punks could easily walk past any vette they see in the lot and don't even need to insert the key to open the door. Bingo! This one opened. I don't mind having to use the key to open the door.

I priced the remote at the dealer today $143 (inc. tax). I think Eklers is about $135.

Dealer cost (I looked on the computer the guy was using is $80.

Quite a sweet markup, maybe a gouge!

I hate having just one though, I do like how it works (when it's working)

Still puzzled about how opening the pass door w/ key seemed to fix it all?

Give Jeff Koop a call at Superior Chevy,Ph. 800 728-8267 for a price on the FOB.

I can't remember which forum it was, but
one guy went thru all kinds of diagnostics & coudn't locate the problem. The cure turned out to be that the key lock was not returned to the vertical position & threw his interior lights out of whack.:duh
Cheap fix...

That's a great fix to know about, guess I should lube the locks just in case, anyone know what the General suggests for lube?

I guess some silicon spray would be ok. Probably need one of those plastic nozzles. I've always used a little WD-40.
