Mystery Vacuum Lines???

Just bought my C5. The battery had been replaced because it started to leak. The previous Goof (did I say that out loud) failed to clean up after the leak. So I did. While I was under/behind the fender well, I noticed pieces of very small vacuum lines leading to a black cylinder (near the passenger's side door post hinge). I have read that battery acid eats these lines up (must have been the case). At the time, I didn't know what it was, so I cleaned things up and reasembled. Just learned that the vacuum lines lead to a vacuum reservoir (the black cylinder) and are part of my climate control system. The books I have don't reference any details concerning how the lines are supposed to be routed or where they are sourced to and from. Can anyone provide me with infromation concerning this system and how to repair it? Thanks.

Good luck with this. My climate system had a leak and the whole passeneger side fender had to be removed. The battery acid leaked all over the lines. It was 700 Dollars!!!

the t under the canister on mine broke and my ac would not blow proper. went to the auto parts and a new plastic t and rubber hose, all under $7. took cake of the problems. the original may be checkvalve in the t but it works fine when the engine is running.
imho

Had the same problem. Did the job myself. It took four hours (removing the fender and all). A real pain.
