I found these two parts in one of my storage compartments in the rear of the vette. They are symmetrically opposite (looks like they would fit one on each side of the car somewhere). They are plastic and have a couple of screw holes in them...Any ideas?

My guess is that they are covers that fit over the outside front legs of your seat support brackets that bolt to the floor. I have similar looking ones on my Buick.

well if it ain't screwed welded or glued on, I'd have to say its garbage. If you car falls apart after you trash em then you know you messed up!

They look like the theft proof idea that Corvette had to prevent someone from sticking an ice pick through the door below the lock and then pop the lock open. They were mounted inside both door and surrounded the lock mechanism. Hope this helps. Fred

Wow...really? I am pulling the door panels this week so I will see if it looks like they could fit. Pretty interesting. Thanks for the info.

Yep, those puppies go inside the doors and surround the opening mechanism.

I agree. I had my door panels off a couple of months ago and those pieces go iside the door. I think their purpose is to protect the lock mechanism from rain that makes its way past the window into the door.

I think they are the flux capacitor gromets. :D
Thank goodness you were wrong, Jim, or the car couldn't be driven over 88mph without unpredictable results ;LOL.

It may not time warp, but still the results are unpredictable over 88! haha!

Maytag icemaker side by side pre 1970 exhaust condenser modulator simiulator, thig a ma jig. No clue, just goofing. good luck. It fell off when they tied the refrigerator on the luggage rack...........

They are the left and right door latch guards. They protect the latch from water/ice getting in and also serve as an anti-theft guard.

I will probably just leave them out. My car sits in a locked garage and is unlikely to get jacked. Do you think they are worth anything?

I don't have any idea what they are worth. I think shipping would be pretty cheap they are light and not that big. What do you think they are worth?
