Does any one have any feedback on the National Corvette Owners Assoc.? Don't see it mentioned in list of clubs on this site.

Thanks

Well, seeing as how he is relatively new to the world of Corvettes, and is just now feeling out the multitude of offerings that are available to us as Corvette owners, we really should cut him some slack and provide some answers rather than just dumping on the organization. ;)

I joined NCOA when I first got my Vette. As a matter of fact I joined just about everything there was to join: clubs, magazines, forums, etc.. I had to find out what was good, or worth it, and what wasn't.

In joining clubs, I quickly discovered that to be a member of most clubs nowadays, one either must have a million-dollar insurance policy of their own, or join the National Council of Corvette Clubs (NCCC). I had to join NCCC. :L

In addition to the NCOA and NCCC, there's also the Corvette Club of America(CCA) among others.

After years of membership, I am down to this forum, my magazines, and one local club, and that too could soon end. To tell you the truth, what Mark says just about sums it up nicely in that the money is better spent on something else - you don't get much from the NCOA as a member, except a decal and some worthless literature. I just felt you deserved more of an answer to your question. ;)

I agree with Ken and FX GS about the relative level of value you get for the money involved with NCOA. I have read their literature, been to their website and I have not really found anything of value to me

The one organization that I would recommend is becoming a member of the National Corvette Museum. Your $50 annual dues goes to a very worthy organization and it's where the history of the Corvette is being preserved. You don't get life insurance or motel discounts. You do get a magazine, free entry to the NCM when you visit and discounts at the store. You can even take the dues as a tax deduction!! But mot importantly, you get a feeling that you are a part of the Museum.

And BTW, welcome to the CAC if nobody else has mentioned it!!

I decided not renew my membership fee this year to the ncoa, because simply, they do nothing (this is my opinion). They gave me this almost useless insurence policy ($500 for loss of a thumb? that all its worth??). The only benefit I see is you get minor discounts at a few parts place, and they offer a $500 reward if your Corvette is stolen. Other than that, nothing. No large community like there is here on the CAC!

I have to agree with most of the above.NCOA does next to nothing for me. I have had nothing but trouble with them when I have ordrered from them. Their newsletter leans more to the newer Vettes, doesn't help me with my 77. I do belong to C3VR and will stay with them.

I second the NCM membership. I've even dropped my Vette magazine subscriptions, but the Corvette Museum is a must-have because it's obvious where your money is going.

And where else can you have the chance to display YOUR car for the world to admire?

Thanks for the feedback and the upfront value of some of this stuff. Whether it's been motorcycles or trucks, I've tended to join everything in site, in the beginning. And found little value in most. That's why I asked first.

NCM seems to be a logical choice.

Much appreciated!!!

And make sure you do at least one NCM caravan... they have them for one reason or another nearly every year and it's an indescribable feeling to look out your windshield and see hundreds of Vettes of all generations snaking along the highway in front of you.

I agree with Ken . got Everything but have learned in the meantime. Wish somebody had told me about ncoa before

Huh?? How is it that one can display their own car?

[font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Corvette owners now have the opportunity to participate in the "NCM Xperience" - a new program that offers owners a unique experience with their Corvette at the National Corvette Museum. Corvette owners can schedule a special visit to the Museum, where their Corvette receives an exterior cleaning and is then displayed on the floor of the Museum delivery area, similar to the highly requested R8C Program. Guests are given a VIP plant tour and Museum tour as part of the program, and are also given a one-year individual membership to the Museum, commemorative plaque, silver decal recognizing participation in the program, and an individual photograph in front of the Museum - weather permitting.
