Hi,

Can someone tell me what this part is, and what it connect to?

It's under the front fender, on the passenger side. I could not find anything in the assembly manual and service manual.

Thanks!

To me that looks like the blower motor and the tube on mine goes back into the evaporator box...does your car have A/C??

No, I don't have A/C. Is the evaporator box part of the emissions system?

In your case it would be heater and blower box, not evap. if you are w/o A/C.
Sure this car didn't have air at some point or someone put an A/C type blower motor in?
My Assy Manual shows a standard blower motor w/o A/C and there is no pipe coming from the blower motor. Under the A/C section (Option C60), the blower motor shows the pipe. Even my 68 Chassis Manual shows the pipe under the A/C section.
Not sure what function the pipe serves....

JohnZ would be the perfect member to answer your question. Might try PM'ing him....

I should have pointed out that the 'pipe' is made of rubber and is held into place with a grommet that is molded on its end - the open end is slightly wider, which leads me to believe that something is supposed to connect to it.

I can't get in there to take a picture.....maybe I can from the bottom, I'll try later....

It's went bad sometime a someone put a AC fan motor in it!!:upthumbs junk!!

That's the cooling tube for the A/C blower motor - blows cold air from the evaporator cavity into the blower motor; only used on A/C cars, though - someone replaced the blower motor with an A/C motor, with the tube attached, and didn't know what to do with the tube. The motor used on non-A/C cars didn't have the hole in the can, and they didn't use the tube.

Thanks John.....somehow, someway I knew you would step in to solve the riddle......

Cee
