I am looking for some advice on installing a new radio bezel in my 1972 vette. I have begun to take everything apart, however, I am having trouble getting back to the instrument gauges to unhook them from the bezel. Has anybody performed this switch before? The older bezel was broken, so I am replacing it.

I would also like to change the blinker light in the tachometer while I have all this apart, as mine is not working (just the right side blinker in the car is not working).

Any advice/previous experience is appreciated.

i disconnected all the wires and oil line....remove radio.....then removed the cluster before i removed the gauges....its pretty easy to do out of the car...i marked all the wires down on paper , but on mine its easy to tell where they go...Chas

Did you have any trouble getting back to the wires? I am going to follow your method, but, I am having trouble getting the bezel out far enough to access the wires. Did you pull out the side dash board pieces beside the bezel?

Thanks for the help
Matt

first remove the passenger side front dash panel.....then you can access the wires easier.....remove the panel on side the center consol too...this should get the wires for the radio ...get it out first...then start on the bezel....take your time and if you have a digital camera , take pics as you go for refrence as you reassemble....let me know if you need anything else Matt....

The center bez is held in by the screws on both its sides and the screw at the top, above the wiper switch. Remove the pass side dash. There are 2 3/8's nuts that hold the bezel to the center console that are a MF to get at/out. You have to remove the radio to get at them. That should allow the bezel to fall toward the rear of the car and you can then take the wires/oil line off. A pain. Having done this 2wice [sic], I'd give this job a 6 on the PITA meter. DOABLE. Good Luck!
