Hi Everyone,

My inside right rear brake/turn signal bulb is out. My manual says to get to it from the license plate opening and from under the car. I can't get my arm up from the bottom - the exhast is in the way. I can get my hand on the socket (barely) through the license tag opening but I can't tell what to do with it to get it out. Also, the book says that once out, you can pull the socket to the license plate opening to actually change the bulb but it does not feel like there is enough wire to get it to the opening when I do finally get the socket out.

Any help would be appreciated.

I found that removing the bolt holding the muffler up at the rear gives me just enough room to get my arm up inside...You do need long arms or a neighborhood kid that does. Open the hood and look at the socket for the front side bulbs, its the same type of socket. You need to press down on a tab, then turn it.

The inboard light should be reachable, at least it was for my meat hooks, through the opening where the license plate is mounted. I used my left arm to do mine. The outboard I had to reach from the bottom, and was just outboard of the muffler. As previously stated, you may also look for a 14 year old with skinny arms and a firm hand shake.

Thanks for the input. After your post above telling me to look at the socket in the front of the car, I was able to get my left arm in and remove the lamp. I could only get my right arm a little way up - there is just no room. It is done. Thanks for the input. If I had not been shown how the socket was released, I would never have gotten it out.
