Hi all;
I need to buy a new carb for my 81. Old one isn't rebuildable. Don't want to put aftermarket on there if I can keep from it. Suggestions please on where to buy?

Hi,

What makes the old one un-rebuildable ?

If it is a worn throttle shaft bore, there's a guy on eBay that sells the reamer and bushings to re-bush the shaft.

Its warped, stripped, and I don't want to deal with the broken pieces. Just want a new one. I've bandaged and jerry-rigged it as long as possible.

Replacement Q-Jet

Aloha,

I have a lot of new parts in my closet but not this one.

You can check out Volunteer Vette Products at:

81 CARBURETOR | 78-82 Rochester | Volunteer Vette Corvette Parts

It's a rebuilit, original GM unit @$499.00

I would call them and see if it matches yours for sure.
I understand the '81's came out with an electronic carburetor & is somewhat controlled by an ECM.

eBay has a listing for an '81 Rochester computer controlled rebuilt unit @$230 6mo warranty...but again, I would talk with him to be sure it's the same Rochester PN: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ROCH...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item255921018c

Nothing like a leaking carb base to make your day !
Regards...
