It would be better if SHE would contribute to your passion for a Corvette, but instead she makes you feel like a bastard step-child. Ask me how I know!!
That wife went by the wayside many years ago and was the best thing that ever happened to me. My current wife of 22 years is into cars and actually reminds me of when service is due. She has two cars and I have two and a Ranger pick-up we kinda share.
I recently bought a 87 convertible and have spent a few dollars getting it reliable. She asked me recently if I wanted to get the upholstery redone.
Great hobby-great car. Get what you deserve and get her interested in your Corvette.

Considering the horrofic blowout we had before I got it, I doubt she would ever give me an ultimatum. Everyone would think she's nuts. All her friends are either divorced, getting divorced, or should be divorced. She's got it made, huge house on the water, 4 vacations a year, etc. This will blow over when she realizes that I'm not giving in, I'm going to have some kind of sports car no matter what, and that's that. It's going to the tranny shop on monday before the thing really blows.

Want to get her mind off the Vette? Bring home some Harley brochures and a Cycle Trader, circle some chopper ads, start viewing H-D, Tattoo, maybe some heavy metal centric websites. That Vette will start looking like a harmless diversion real quick...

I had a similar scenario with my wife. I had 4 cars at one time. The wife was getting steamed. I spent time with the Vette's as needed. I never neglected the MRS. or the house. The wife said they have to go. I told her what Jay Leno said."Some men have many cars and one woman, and some men have many women and one car" Now honey you know which category I fall into. Well the MRS. has never once said anything more about the cars that have come and gone over the years.That quote worked for me. Good luck

I sold all my bikes after we where married, and my 72 GTO. That killed me. Almost bought a Harley last month, but figured a car would be more practical, a convertible even better. The fact that I found one for so cheap was too good to pass up. How many convertible vette's are out there for $5500.00 that even run. Junk GTO's with no motor or trannies are going for that much. I think Chevyaddict needs to talk to her. That girl has the right idea!

My wife helped get the loan to buy our ZR1. And she was with me all the way when we bought the 96 vette. I am pretty lucky. Think she will help me get a vert.:L
