1996 white LT4 gs wheels
I was looking under my 96-lt4 the other day and noticed that the pass. side floorpan has been cracked and the small alum. shield is bent .I"m going to fix it myself I have a little exp. with fglas.My problem is I went to the local GM dealer and they could not find the number of the shield.Helpless and Hopeless At one Mega location.Any help on this part # would be appreciated.Thanks Kevin.
 
Call Jason at 1-815-673-6200. He has found some very obscure parts for many of us.
 
Well, I have the part numbers for the floorpans, but the disc I have doesn't show the aluminum plate. I know what plate you're talking about; my floors were damaged in the same location, and as it turns out, I see in the new Corvette Fever magazine that Chris Petris states that it is not an uncommon problem with C4s. Things like road debris, improper jacking, etc., can cause it. In my case it was due to improper lifting at the track. The former owner raced it, but his pit crew must have been careless. You should have seen my floors! :eek

You could easily make your own plate to protect that area. ;)
 
I think the previous owner got mine bouncing over speed bumps. I fabbed a piece of 1/8" aluminum to cover the damage, sealed it with clear silicone, and bolted it in place with stainless hardware.
