need some advise

I just got the fuel tank installed, the straps are a PIA is there a certain procedure to install these? I have been fighting these things for about an hour now and I'm still not any closer to getting them bolted up.

Assuming it's a new tank, did you bend the flanges down where the straps pass by? If the flanges aren't bent down locally like they were on the original tank, it's near-impossible to get the straps connected. You might also try getting some carriage bolts about 1" longer at the hardware store and using those to pull the straps down, then replacing them with the stock bolts.

My straps were ok so I reused them, I think it's the foam on the back side of the tank that is give me problems, I'll try the carriage bolt trick.
