I don't get to drive my 95 very much, however about a month ago I had a horrible knocking sound, my friend is a camaro freak and he's a mechanic. We did the sound through the screwdriver/breaker bar on the valve covers and ended up at the water pump. The water pump was rattling like crazy so we thought that was the problem. I purchased a new AC/Delco water pump and the guy I spoke to said usually when the water pump goes it takes the distributor with it. We replaced the water pump and the noise did reduce somewhat but it still is not the same. Anyone out there ever have this happen to them and what was your fix?

Thanks
Mark

I haven't a clue, but this will bump your question back to the top, in hopes of getting you an answer. :CAC

I have a noise like that from time to time and I think it is in the dist .

It started after I installed the dist and water pump.

It comes and goes from time to time.

I jump on it and take it up to about 100 mph and it goes away.
Brain fart I just had a thought it might be the timing chain but my sound is very low pitch like a thump.
