Getting ready for a new set of tires. Can you guys give me some recommendations as to what's a good set? Do they still make the Eagle F1's? I can't seem to find them. I'm in San Diego so no snow and very little rain driving. I wouldn't mind buying them on line and having them installed locally. Thanks!

Eagle F1 are good tires

I have Kumho Ecsta Supra 712s, best tire for the price

F1-GS-D3, I've heard great things about the khumo's as well. The Dunlop Sp 8,000 9,000's are nice for a stock car. Stick to the road well and good in the rain. They're probly in between the two mentioned. Go to Tirerack.com and look around.

Welcome to :CAC :) :beer

If price is the main concern, there are a variety of inexpensive tires available, Kumho being one.

If it were me, I'd buy the Goodyear F1 GS. I have one car (not a Vette) that uses the 255/50ZR16 size and that's the tire I run on it.

One problem with 84-87s is that some of the best Goodyears (F1 Supercar and F1 GS-D3) are not available in 255/50ZR16.
