Need to pull the oil pan

To get the front engine cover off. Manual says that I must remove the oil filter assy., left cat, starter, oil level sensor. Anybody remove it without doing all this?

What can I expect if I disconnect the battery for an extended period, like a month when I restart the car?

No idea about the pan. The battery won't cause a problem. The computer will re-learn everything in the first few mile you drive it.

Just wanted to make sure it wasn't one that had to be reprogramed manually.
