I need the torque specs for the front brake caliper mounting bolts. Anyone have their shop manual handy.

Thanks,
Tom

Caliper Housing bolts FRONT 130 ft. lbs.
Caliper Housing bolts REAR 60 ft. lbs.

Thanks Bud. You're a prince. I don't care what everybody else says. :D The L81 is going to see the light of day before the weekend. How about that?

Tom

Nope - the caliper-to-mounting bracket bolts are 70 ft-lbs; the 130 ft-lbs. is for the bolts that clamp the two halves of the calipers together.

Tom,

I hope this mis-information didn't screw up your calipers :eek

JohnZ is correct.. I just pulled out my shop manual, what I quoted is the Caliper Housing Bolts there is also a torque for .... Caliper Mounting Bolts which is 70 ft. lbs.

Once again I hope you can correct this without any damage to your new calipers..

Thanks JohnZ for catching this..

Bud

I kind of figured that was the case. I chickened out at 100 realizing that they weren't that tight when I took them off. I didn't think that size bolt would take 130 or the threads in the casting. I guess they won't fall off. I will take the wheels off and back them off to 70. Thanks guys.
