2003 50th Annversary Red coupe, beautiful !
I've been ill for the last few, well the last year. And I took the C5 out today and of course the window didn't work, (I assume it's from non-use since it suddenly started work) but the one right side headlight goes up and down perfectly, but once down it continues to emit a loud buzzing sound. It last about five seconds then quits. I did a search and this I assume is the plastic gears are shot ? And the only reasonable fix is to replace them with Brass gears, and I guess you do both headlights instead of just one, Right? I haven't been able to get out and use the car everyday, so I remember a post here by someone I haven't been able to get out and use it every day and some of the electrical contacts light the windows didn't work till I repeatedly worked the switches un and down and now they work perfect. Thank you ! :eyerole

OK, It's offical I have a headlight problem !

Is this a job I could do on my own ? Does the whole headlight come out so the gear can be changed and do I pack it with some grease while it is being changed ? Thank you !

It must be frustrating to find gremlins popping up from lack of use. I don't know C5s so I can't offer advice, just empathy...

I hope you're feeling better and able to tackle these issues

I also found a word document on the subject I had on my computer. Killian PM me your email address and I'll forward you that as well.

Thank Tom , I missed use your name for Mac's, but thank you both. It's odd how a small accident can disrupt so much of your life. You cannot leave these cars sit for a month or two and expect things to be normal. I had to work the drivers side window switch a number of times before it started work properly again. I guess the tarnish builds up over time. a very short time ! :ugh
