Straight out of Lingenfelter's shop, BBC all new 540 C.I. blower short block, Lunati rotating assembly, pro blower series crankshaft, and 4.250" stroke. This crankshaft is designed to withstand the extreme pressures brought to play when using a blower. The Lunati crankshaft has a .140" radii on the roads and mains. All machine & assembly work by Lingenfelter.
Includes dual keyways on the snout to withstand extreme race conditions. It also has lightening holes in the 2,3, and 4 rod journals. The number 1 rod journal is not drilled to provide extra strength on the front of the crankshaft. The connecting rods are the Lunati pro billet 6.135" length and large journal.
The pistons are by Lunati (part number 16101450), the bore is 4.500" with a 2.930 length pin and .990" outside diameter. The pistons have a 15cc reversed dome and ring package is 1/16, 1/16 and 3/16. These are forged race pistons. The block is a new Mark IV four bolt main. This short block has the best of everything and cost $8,000 to build!
Also includes a new 2.3L Whipple Supercharger. Most of the Whipple kits come with a 1.6L compressor, which is barely enough for a 454. This 2.3L compressor will feed 540 cubic inches and do it more efficiently without creating a lot of heat in the intake air.
Other parts included are a GM hyd roller cam and Comp Cams retro fit hyd roller lifters, push rods for the hyd roller lifters and a new Fluidampner balancer.
The cam is the same as used in a GM 502 crate engine. .510/.540 lift, 211/230 duration at .050, and 114 lobe centers. It is a great cam for a supercharged engine, plenty of lift without being excessive, more lift and duration on the exhaust side, LC of 114 is perfect and not much over lap or else the blower will push your fuel out the exhaust ports.
