1981 Silver 4spd
Hi all, just wanted to give an introduction, I'm Dave, a Retired Auto Tech.
just bought a 81 C3 4spd. car, getting it ready for paint, back to original Silver, and has Black interior.
I've been looking for good pics of an original Silver 81 to no avail, all I've found are 82, although the differences are small, would still like pics of 81 :).
If anyone has some pics to share please shoot me a PM or ??

Update

Never mind....wow just found what I've been looking for....just looking in the wrong forums.

Found some really great shots of JUST what I was looking for.

Gotta love this place:happyanim:

:w Dave

Always nice to see another 1981 Corvette join us here at the Action Center :thumb

Another great 1981 owner lives in "Rio Rancho, NM" Gerry LP. Gerry is fairly active around here and knows the 1981 inside and out, plus he loves his 1981 Corvettek and done a lot of TLC all the way around, and I consider his a good Friend :w :pat

If you haven't found our 1981 Registry here is a link: L81 Vette Registry Please take a few minutes and visit the site and get your 1981 registered ... it's free ;) so far we have 1,364 L81 Corvette Registered :thumb

Here are a few photo's of silver 1981's from the Registry ;)

Rio Rancho, NM on the map!!!

Welcomed aboard, Dave!

A couple of thoughts are making you so familiar. First, I wonder if this the same L81 for sale recently in craiglist??? If so, congratulations! I even called to purchased that Vette, but when I did, the previous owner told me that it had just pbeen picked up. I mean, 4-speed L81's are rare, so what are the odds that this is not the same one!!! :upthumbs:beer

Secondly, I know a Dave, automotive technician, who not too long ago sold me some cherry 1963 Chevy II fenders, and I was told that this Dave had recently bought a Vette, but I am slightly less sure if this would be you...regardless, welcomed aboard, Dave!!!

I do love the silver L81's. It is a color which also seems to be rare. Anytime you need help with anything, let me know. Although, as an automotive technician, I doubt you would need very much technical help. Sometimes the most useful help is someone to hold, pull, push, flip, drag, tuck, or any other action that cannot be done while both of your hands are busy with the wrenches. :D:D:D

Cool Story. . . . . .

Neat story GerryLP, sometimes we live in a very small world :cool!: that's for sure.
