Notice NO CAMMO ON THE ROOF!! Nice and smooth!!
Blow it up and see how deep (wide) the wheels are!
Notice the leading edge of the hatch glass is an inch higher than the cammo-less "B" pillar. Could it be that all the spy cars are sporting bogus hatch and hatch glass???!!!

Wow! thanks!

very cool...

Good ones Longtimer.

Is the rear clip a C5 or a C6? (from the back of the doors rearward?)

Looks like C5 fenders except for that gas door and door handle.. buldge too..

Whats with the same rear fenders?

Headlights?

Does anyone see what I see? The outline of 2 bumps or circles in front of the driver's wheel well on the fender that could possibly be the shape of the new headlights? Blow it up and look closely, there is definitely something there...or is it just the wind?

As I have stated earler Now you can see the "hat brim" spoiler on the rear and also the shape of the rear exaust grill insert. Yes INDEED you can see the retro oval headlights as I have been saying all along look kinda like the 53s. Also you can see the JuJubee grill. Its a bit too C5 looking from the side IMO. Also notice the square gas door. We also see the center high stop lamp here. Also notice the REAR fender bulge that starts at the top rear of the doors and continues into the rear fenders.

And this one.

From http://www.carconnection.com:

Don't look for a carbon fiber body and aluminum hydroformed frame on the new C6 Corvette - they're reserved for the Le Mans effort. But shown here is the latest spy photo of the C6 Corvette coupe, photographed just hours ago.

Evolutionary rather than revolutionary, the double-bubble roof contrasts with knife edge fenders fore and aft that extend into the doors, a la the '68-'82 'Vette. Door handle cutouts in the rear fenders and a squared-off gas filler door are part of a crisper, sharper profile. Ultra low-profile run-flats on new five-spoke rims and drilled rotors hint at a new performance level.

Expect the new Corvette to be introduced at the 2004 Detroit Auto Show in January, and to arrive in dealer showrooms by next fall.

Nice side shot.

The mirror stem seems to be thicker than the C5. Also check out the height of the side marker lights, they appear to be much higher than the C5’s. If you have seen the new 2004 Chevy Malibu, it has flush mounted windshield to roof glass, the same type of flush mounting seems to be on the C6. Check out the pronounced curve just ahead of the mirror stem, reminds me of a mid-year.

I must be blind......... I am not sure I see what everyone else sees. IMO, I see a C5 with a C6 door and MAYBE C6 front and rear ends covered up. The doors do not blend well in thee pics? Any ideas? But who knows, looks like GM is trying to confuse things more. I always thought that the overhangs would be shorter, here they look the same as C5. Now I see why they pick white and black for camo covered test cars. Please more ideas of what you all see, I am still having trouble. Someone do some photoshop work to help see things better.

What you see is what you get. There is some foam under the cammo to distort the real shape of the front and rear ends. The front overhang looks to be somewhat longer than the "real" thing. The front air intake looks very much like the one the Cadillac XLR wears on its front lower valance panel. Im sure it will be just a short matter of time till MidAmerica starts selling C6 conversion kits for C5. Heck Mike Yeager might have you driving a C6 before GM releases it!!! save your money! :L

;stupid
Looks like a C5 :confused With a touch of Firebird

Notice the intense glow from the rear lights........looks like we're finally getting LED lighting. I'm sure the fronts are Xenon.;shrug

I'm hoping those are bogus rim-sizes. They are too small for the wheel-wells.

Has the exhaust been moved to the outer corners of the rear facias? I can't remember what was stated on other post. In earlier spy shots, there were vents in the cammo for side exhaust but I don't see them now.

That definitely has to be the wrong hatch-glass. As stated earlier, it doesn't follow the contour of the roof. Also, you can definitely see the contour of the new headlights.

I believe the exhaust will have a center location as is presently on the C5 and the XLR.

I agree the rear fenders and hatch do not seem to be harmonous with the rest of the car.

I'd say its a combo/camoflage test vehicle..

Closer than ever before..but still not an accurate dipiction..(sp)

Great info ..great shots..but not accurate for the final product..

We can hope anyway! ;)

There is some promise here, but I agree with those persons who find that the whole thing fails to blend together. The whole front fender line area into the front door area is especially awkward, and it makes the car look bent----like some huge weight was put on the rear of the hood and the car and frame were pushed down. There is something dated looking about all these spy vehicles----I feel like I am looking like the early 90s version of the large, 4-wheel drive Mitsubishi sports car after they changed ITS pop-up headlights to the tiny round ones. While I have never been a big fan of the C5, if what they are doing is trying to throw retro-style "shark" creases onto a C5, and Japanese sports car tricks from the 90s, and call it a C6, I think that's a big mistake, and GM is setting itself for lots of negative reviews in January 2004. This is not looking good.

I would agree with you Chris, if I thought we were looking at the complete, finished car. The designers know what is at stake and when we see the C6 in January, a lot of us will go back to our archieves, open up these shots and say, "Oh, I see how they hid that." AND for one element, I'll bet a paycheck that the hatch glass we see here is NOT the hatch glass we see in January.

PS Man those wheels look huge here.

I certainly hope you are correct and that when the cladding comes off things will gel. Lutz is a pretty sharp guy, and I have noticed in the past that my thoughts on car design have been much like his. There's a lot of Bill Mitchell in Lutz, and almost none in the C4, C5 styling team, or most of GM for that matter. If certain business prospects work out for me, I have been considering replacing my much loved '81 4-spd., and one idea is either a C6 or a used C5 ZO6 (I will probably need a newer car for a more reliable and safe commute along one of the world's worst system of roads here in Houston, and the added bits and pieces on the ZO6 and its overall character solve some of my complaints about the C5 design, generally).

--Chris Kennedy

You really think John Peters (Aztek) knows how to design pretty cars? Sorry to say but C6 was way to deep into the process for Lutz to be able to make any major changes to it. C6 is a pretty car as I have stated but its no beauty queen. This is why I have tried to tell people here to wait and see it before plunking down big deposits on it. If the styling falls short in the publics eye discounts will soon abound.
