I can't believe the difference between my previous 1999 C5 and my new 2005 C6. Yesterday I drove my new Machine Silver Metallic vette home and I'm still pinching myself. It's an absolutely awesome car! I know I'll enjoy it for a long time. :)

Wonderful! What interior did you get?
The interior of my C6 is Steel Gray. Thanks for asking.

Nice ! I saw that at my dealer. This guy bought 3 C6s, one was silver/gray, returned all three and bought a Dodge Durango!!! Go figure.

I would love to provide you with PICS.

Perfect Agreement

I picked up mine on Friday, 2 days ago 12/17 (and put it away for the winter today). My new DSOM (copper?) C6 Z51 6Spd, Translucent Top, Polished Wheels, Interior Pkg (great stereo!), XM Radio, is all I had hoped for. I ordered it in September, it was a difficult wait but the day finally arrived! It's a great upgrade from my traded-in 2000 C5 Z51, 38K miles. This thing is solid as a rock! Quieter, more refined sound and feel. The more I peer out over the subtly peaked-fender hood, the more the new design grows on me. I think the new look is every bit a work of art as I thought of the C5 when I got it 4 years ago. And this thing, again, is an engineering marvel. I'm still getting used to not pulling keys out of my pocket as I approach it. It's a concept that should become standard on all vehicles. I step out, walk away from it and it's locked, pretty cool.

I find that I need to re-learn how to handle the power of a Corvette with the more serious horsepower (and lower bottom gear ratios of the Z51). It seems to break free in 1st and 2nd awfully easy. Well, that's a problem I don't mind working out.

401K, I hope you're having as much fun with yours as I am with mine.

Bob, I'm really enjoying my C6. I drive it everyday to work, which is about 10 miles from my home. I haven't even had my car in the rain yet since I've had the car for one week tomorrow. You've got me thinking that perhaps I need to put my car up and drive something else for the winter. Mississippi's coldest weather may be a day with a high of 40. If we get a few snow flurries here we panic. The schools close, roads are shut down and work is out of the question. Tonight we will have a low of 20 degrees with a possibility of a couple of snow flakes. I'm already making plans to be out of work tomorrow, due to hazardeous conditions. Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cheers!!!

Worthy Winter Car

401k, If you were ever really interested in a winter car worthy of the 6-speed Corvette, I'll tell you what I've done. Just over a year ago (and after waiting for my order for half a year) I got my ideal Corvette winter alter ego: a Volve S60R All-Wheel Drive, 300 HP (turbo charged to get there) 6-Speed. After you've driven this car for a few weeks going into the winter season, you start imagining that it's almost as much fun as the 6-speed C5 (or now, C6). It really is a worthy winter alter ego for the Corvette. I did have to put on Pirelli snow tires all around to get snow & ice traction, but with them and the all wheel drive, this car is quite something. I go go anywhere in anything, keeping normal highway speeds while others crawl. The power is something else for a Volvo and handling versatility with the 3 suspension settings is excellent. But even with all the enjoyment I get from the S60R, there's nothing like taking that cover off on a sunny spring day and backing my awesome C5 (next time, C6) machine out of the garage and taking it for it's first cruise of the season.

I'm jealous you'll be sitting in your C6 while I think about next spring!

I agree with you. I was in the windy city once on business. It was bone chilling weather.
