Hi!

Several months ago i posted a topic asking for advice on buying a corvette for the first time. I recieved lots of help for which I would like to thank all of you. Moreover, the forum discussions in general have been very helpful. Well, I finally took the plunge last night after months of searching for exactly what i wanted:

1980 L-82 Black Corvette, red interior, 22k miles

Man i love this car...

Hi: Glad to hear that you got a decent used 'Vette. When I went out to look for my first one, I couldn't believe what I found. People really mess up these nice cars. I looked at a ton of used ones & finally opted for a pretty nice one that was a Demo at a dealership. Good luck with your 'vette.

Peace: Dave (From one local boy..............to another)

Great, glad you are in a vette now. what are your plan's?
you gonna keep it stock? it will be lot's of fun.

Congrats, there's nothing like owning a Vette, enjoy the ride, keep smiling and don't forget the wave "IT'S A VETTE THING -N- YA JUST GOTTA DO IT"

pictures, pictures we need pictures

Gotta love those Black Vettes!

Congratulations on finding the one for you!

Look forward to some pics when you can.

Congrats on the C3... the ONLY way to go.

Only C3 forum members will see this.... right? :gap

Aussie, why do owners of newer vettes don't wave as much?most that i encounter seem surprised when i wave...

corvettes are VERY popular leased cars...

in the DC area anyway. To people with the leased version, in general, its a fad-mobile.

Don't let this get you down, wave to every C5 owner you see :) cause there are a considerable number of them who own their car (more than those who lease) and are proud to be vetters.

A lot of vette owners don't know that they are buying into a secret society of waving nutcases (some have even been known to wave at fire hydrants) :eek :)

BINGO! AussieWithFlare hit it right on the nose, a lot of them are leased cars and its a trendy thing or they have their first vette and just don't realize this secret society thing we do! I met a lady with her first vette (1998) and she asked why people were waving at her, after explaining it to her, shes a waving fool now.

Don't stop waving, it catches on, sorry I couldn't spell contageous.

Congrats Zarkonan!

Congrats on your purchase, :beer here's to having miles of smiles!

The Wave:
I wave at every Corvette I can, not the driver. For me, this is a respect for the Corvette thing...IF the driver waves back, I know my wave has touched another heart of a true Corvette enthusiast....but the 'vette gets my wave first.
