New DIN Radio Install Question

I'm installing a new CD player in my 81 vette and have cut a bezel and fit the "cage" that holds the new radio. What I'm wondering is if I also need to fit some sort of brace on the back of the radio to fix it to either the floor or firewall, or if the cage in the bezel is all that I need. Thanks for any help those of you that have already done this can provide.

Originally, there was a brace/bracket on the passenger side of the Stereo which secured it to the floor. Of course, the weight of the 8-track player was rediculous...LOL. I would secure it so that your bezel does not crack.
