It has been nearly a year since I sold my 1978 TPI monster. I miss my C3 sometimes.
I had a lot of fun building that car. I owned it for the last of my teenage years and early twenties. It was a great car. Maybe in part because I played with it a lot. I wanted to get power locks, keyless remote, a bigger trunk (I would not have a beater car overseas- the Vette would have to be a daily driver and I needed a bigger trunk!!!)
I have a lot going on in life right now. My residence situation may be changing in the next six months and I may be moving back to the states. As the dollar slides... I would be able to get more for my 1997 here. With that being said- I may end up selling the 1997, getting $.40 cents on the dollar to someone who pays me in Euros. If I sold it in England... I could get nearly two for one with pounds to dollars. It is a great market for a seller- not a buyer!!!
Anyways, if things end up where I move back, I am thinking of getting a 1982. Mainly, I want the 700R4, power windows, and locks. Then I will either go with an X-Ram and a crate motor or an LS1 sawp.
I really like the silver green cars. Those Vettes look great. I really enjoyed the EFI set up on my old 78, but I really like the LS1's diagnostic capabilities.
Maybe I could figure a way to get the DIC screen from the C5s into a C3 (underneath the speedo and tach in the bottom most part of the C3 cluster)....
Any thoughts? Would the cost be comparable between an X Ram / 350HO and an LS1?
