I know we have seen the Arizona Speed and Marine side mounted EFI before but now they have this new manifold with a dropped front to clear early Corvette hoods.

I was there until I saw the price of $4,200......it is really nice looking and I am sure that it gets the job done.....but at the end of the day, $4,200 for just this is a bit out of my ball park. There are a lot of other areas that I will put that kind of money in my car......thanks for the link and the option of evaluating!!

Me too.

If you think about it and you really wanted fuel injection... That's about $2K less than you can get an original mechanical setup for these days. And I'm sure it's a bit more reliable once properly set up.

Good point Paul. Compared to the other popular aftermarket EFI units it is a lot of $$ but a good rebuildable early unit that is not just a pieced together bunch of parts will be this much. I have been looking. They are out there and one set up properly will return over 20 mpg if driven for mileage. Those old Rochesters were incredible back in their day. Like paul said a restored one can go $6000 or more and you still have to find an original air cleaner or buy a repo and that will take you another 2k. This new one will use an original air cleaner or you could do a custom one that resembles the original but uses a modern cone shaped K&N filter.

I just think it's a cool piece but it seems that everything I want for my car costs $4000. give or take.

AZ Speed and Marine EFI $4000
AFR headed engine built for the EFI $4000.
Kiesler bolt in 5 speed conversion with new clutch ect. $4000.
Restored hardtop $4000.
All new soft parts, interior, carpet, heat barrier, convert top cover ect. $4000.
Dayton Borrani style aluminum rim wire knockoff wheels $4000.

Do you see a conspiracy here? I think I should call the FBI. :L

Nice piece Tom.... To bad they don't make it for the BB.. I wonder how much more this unit adds in MPG over the carb set up on the SB..??

I don't know but I'd like to find out. It has to be better than the old dual fours and large overlap camshaft. I would like to build a small block specifically designed to work with this unit and use the the 5 speed overdrive. I'm thinking it would be possible to approach C5 or C6 mpg with great performance as an added bonus. Its starting to look like building our cars for practical cross country touring and performance is going to be a necessity or we won't be able to afford too many road trips in the old plastic car.

I would think that there would be better value getting a LS2 and putting that in the car than getting this and putting it on my small block......just my humble opinion.....it is cool looking and would add a bit of flair to the engine area....but the cost is still steep......maybe I am just too cheap......
