Hello. I've been lurking around here since I got my car in October of last year. I LOVE my car. I'm experiencing my first problem with it right now though. Yesterday, I broke my PKE remote (the part that holds it on your keychain). Today, I was getting gas and I left my keys in the ignition and took the remote with me. While I was pumping gas, I heard the doors lock. I thought nothing of it thinking I could get in with the remote. I was wrong. I had to call a lock service to unlock my door. He unlocked it from the passenger door and now my PKE won't work. I've tried reprogramming it, but no luck. Looking at the manual, it shows that coupes don't have an antenna on the passengers side. So I was wondering if the guy could have broke something or what might be going on here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like the PKE was out before the lock service opened your door. Did you try using the fob to open the hatch? The battery in the fob may be dead.

Programming the PKE for passive or manual can be kinda tricky. I only changed it once or twice, then left the system on manual (keys only) and hung my remote in the house for good. I got tired of it locking itself all the time.

I guess you went and got a spare door key?

Ken

BTW, welcome to CAC!

Did the Locksmith use a Key or a Slimjim? Check to see that the door locks are vertical using your door key? If the lock wasn't returned to that position it may cause a problem. Just a guess?????

He used a slimjim type thing. I've since opened both doors with my key. I'm not sure. I plan on getting a new remote withing the next few days, but I'd like to try to get this one to work for a backup. I've tried programming it, and after I think I have it programmed, it locks and sets the alarm. Then it doesn't work after that.

Hmm, I went out to try to program it once more before I hit the books, and it worked. I guess it works when it wants to.
