Hi, I´m a new member from Braunschweig, Germany. I bought my Vette about 6 weeks ago: a white 1987 convertible- and with just 16000mls on the clock. Originally from Hampden, NY, the Vette and her then owner moved to Germany. Sadly, he passed away after putting the Vette into storage. The car was returned to service in 2007, but the then owner didn´t drive her much cause his wife objected....so I somehow consider myself her 2nd "real" owner, as I certainly intend to keep her. Won´t get many miles, though, appx 600 a year or so, perhaps...well:
After returning to biking 2 years ago (I run a Harley XL1200 with sidecar), the thought struck to get a car to match. At first, I thought of Mustangs or Firebirds, as my dad used to run Mustangs back in the 70s....and then the proverbial lightbulb lit: A Vette! I had admired Corvettes for ever, and suddenly realized I could own one if I got rid of one of my other cars. A dream come true....
The more I learn about the C4, the more impressed I am how well engineered the cars are. I don´t mind the squeaks and rattles- they ain´t too bad, and the beautiful body and sweet engine certainly make up for this.
Cheers for now...
