Welcome. You found, arguably the nicest group of cars guys on any forum.

An OP should move this post to the C3 forum, where there may be more attention and answers.

As the sound varies with RPM it's likely related to the tach. AFAIK, you could unscrew the tach drive from the distributor and see it the sound stops. Also, look to see if the tach needle is steady or jumpy.

Are you sure the noise is sourced inside the car? :w << Vette guys wave at each other, BTW.

Sorry- don't really see a question. (?)
I am pretty sure the message got lost in the mail ;) I hope this is the original question, it sounds right ;)
So this is ma first time on a forum. I'll need a wide birth. My lady and I recently bought a '69 Stingray. We put her in the shop to correct the years of neglect by previous owners. Just got her out last night. What a joy. But now I have a loud tick under driver side dash. Gets louder with RPMs. The wipers don't work. Any advice for the ticking sound? Cheers!

Now I understand. Reminds me of Carnac the Magnificent who knew the answer before the question was read. :L

If it's not the tach cable, try the speedo cable.

Does the wiper door raise when the wipers are selected?
