OK I did some research and hear is what I found, The 4+3 is actually a normal 4- speed trans with a 2- speed planetary overdrive unit attached to it. What this means is that you have seven gear ratios, The overdrive unit is controlled by the ECM (engine computer) It monitors the vehicle speed and throttle position and chooses an overdrive ratio accordingly. Also the overdrive doesn't work in 1st gear, and is automaticlly engaged above 110 mph. finally, the overdrive can be turned off via a switch on the center console. This is all I could find about it, as far as the hard engagement into gear would be impossible to diagnose without more info, I hope I have been some help;shrug

Thanks

I just want to thank you all for the warm welcome :beer

do you know where the od switch is located? you did mention the center console but I can't seem to find it.

.........do you know ....... but I can't seem to find it.

javik1, we're glad to have you with us and we encourage you to post your questions but you'll need to post them in a seperate thread in the C4 Tech and Performance forum ------> Click here instead of a New Member's hello thread.

You're not likely to get any useful responses to your question in this thread because it's so limited in it's audience and it's a little like making the new guy take a test just for saying hi. ;)

By all means, feel free to post a "hello" thread in the New Member Forum New Member Introductions - Corvette Action Center :thumb
