Hi All,

I just joined this site and I just bought a new 2004 Coupe a few weeks ago.
The car is really fantastic and everything that I thought it would be plus more. It is a fresh car that was built on 6-29-04 (one of the last 200+ built), Machined Silver with Black interior, auto with performance axle, 1SB, and polished wheels.

I recently broke it in on a trip from Southern Calif. to Carmel, up Highway 1 and the car performed and handled great. I had a '68 427 Corvette when I was in college and the C5 is lightyears ahead of that car.

I have a couple of questions:

1. When we came back down the coast on the return trip, the passenger seat developed a low pop (1 only) sound when the passenger shifts weight from side to side when going around corners. It is coming from under the right side of the seat (right rail) and I am thinking it has something to do with the rail flexing with the seat. It doesn't do it consistently. It does not do it when the seat is unoccupied. Has anyone experienced this and if so, what is the fix? I would appreciate it so that I have some knowledge before taking it to the dealer. Other than this minor problem, the car has no other issues.

2. This is a dumb question, but Chevy lists the Bose Stereo as having 6 speakers and I see only 4 (2 in the door panel and 2 in the cargo area. Where are the other 2 or are the other 2 also located in one of the above mentioned areas behind the cover like a separate tweeter and bass?

Thanks in advance and this car is such a pleasure to drive. It is truly an anti-depressant and puts a smile on my face.

cvrinc,
Welcome to the CAC and congrats on your new vette.
I confess I don't know the answers to your questions, but be patient and someone will come along with the info you need.

Hi Tammy,

Thanks for the welcome. I look forward to hearing if anyone has any answers.

Hey there,

Can't help with the seat problem other to say it is covered under warranty.

The speakers -- The front door speakers are actually a woofer and a tweeter on the same chassis. The rear speaker is a single mid-range unit on each side.

Hi Randy,

Thanks for the information on the speakers, I thought it was something like that because I could not find any more speakers than the 4.

I will have the seat checked out with the dealer.

Thanks,
Mike
