Not really sure if there is anything wrong with that plenum. There are no cracks, and the fittings are good. The only thing I can think of is the physical differences between mine and that one. It is from an 89 engine. So who knows. I should try it again. Perhaps on a rainy day.
Unless I'm on drugs (and I'm not) about 2-3 wks ago the idle and acceleration problems were a major issue for ya. Member the IAC and TPS and so on discussion :confused Seems like you were ready to dump your Vette :L
Okay, now I follow you. My car is running pretty good. I still kind of want to take it to the track, but am a little afraid of what the times will be, or if I will make an azz out of myself yet once again :L. I got the idle adjusted to around 600 rpms or so, and I can't remember exactly what I got the TPS up to. I just don't think I could get rid of it, driving it is such a good feeling even if it is slow . The currant plan is possibly a procharger, but that might change by the time I get the money.
I've gone the other way ... got an '87 or '88 plenum for my '90 and it worked fine. After I ported and polished my original plenum I swappped them back. I did have a vaccuum leak after putting on the large tube runners. Seemed like it was around all the mating surfaces. The car would only idle at about 1600 RPM. Spraying starting fluid around the mating surfaces would smooth out the idle and drop it to around 1000 RPM. I haven't had a chance to put the original runners back on, but when I get home thats what I'm doing.
