New Products Corporation Highlights Corvette at Back-to-Back Events
BENTON HARBOR, Mich., Aug. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- New Products Corporation (NPC) held a company event to celebrate its 60-year history of making Corvette parts on Friday, August 8th. NPC welcomed former Chief Corvette Engineer Dave McLellan to the Benton Harbor factory to watch parts being produced for the 2014 'Vette and meet many of the verterans who made his Corvette parts. As McLellen signed autographs, some joked that they hoped the genius would rub off with a handshake.
New Products CEO Cheryl Miller gave out commemorative red NPC/Corvette T-shirts and Corvette Hot Wheels. "It was an honor to meet the legend behind the Corvette engineering. And, he is such a nice guy!" proclaimed Miller. "The event was a great 'fuel-injection' for our team."
McLellen was in town for the 2014 Concours d'Elegance, sponsored by New Products. McLellen was the car show's featured designer and contributed to the narrative as vintage cars paraded along Lake Boulevard in downtown St. Joseph as part of the exhibition. Miller was a judge for the event.
Crowds lined up at the NPC hosted tent to drive remote control Stingrays, win hourly prize give-aways, and learn about the local family-owned manufacturer. The auto supplier has been making beautiful parts for beautiful cars for over six decades. A video ran, showing one of the factory's parts assembly into an engine. "The real fun was watching kids and grown-ups try their skill racing the radio-controlled Corvettes!" said Miller.
Miller and the Corvette "pit crew" had a blast at both events. "We are proud to be a part of the Corvette legacy," she said.
