I just got back from the Detroit Autorama an hour ago and saw the most amazing conversion for a C5 convertible or coupe. This was the first showing of the product and it worked so slick you had to see it. I was told by the Company President, Larry Moran, that there were just a few small details to finish up and it would be ready for installation on customer cars. Also the information will be up on their web site shortly and you can expect a price of $9500. for the complete conversion.

I know from past discussions on this topic that some would love to see this on their car and others don't want anything that would add weight or not be a performance part. I'm not offering this info to stir up that arguement again. This is just to show a cool product and tell you who to contact if you are interested.

I would seriously think about doing this to my C5 if I had one. I like it. Also the conversion will be available on the C6 in the future. You would need to contact Larry to find out the details. He would like to hear from anyone interested and the company name and contact info are listed below.

Here are a few pics to digest.

WOW!!:eek That is pretty cool. Could you tell how much trunk space is left when the top is dropped???

If the mechanism (top plus retraction mechanicals) is anything like the Mercedes SLK, then there is nothing left in the way of space when the top is stowed. Additionally, there is likely a HUGE blind spot over the left shoulder - same problem with the Mercedes SLK.

Just a thin trunk area left with the top down. Can't say about any blind spot. I gave Larry Moran my card so I hope he registers and gets in on this discussion.
