new shocks

Its seems like the big winners for shocks are KYB, Bilstien, and Edlebrock. I'm looking to get new shocks, tires and alignment... kind of all at once.

I feel your pain about bad roads. I think roads in NJ have to be the worst in the country. Pot holes and constant construction.. everywhere! All the time! And it seems i commute on the worst of those. Its not like i have a million dollars to spend here, but i agree as someone said "you get what you pay for". I noticed the Bilstein/Edlebrock were about TWICE the KYB shocks. I'm not into auto cross or drag racing. I'm looking for the best ride.

I'd be willing to pay the higher price for the Edlebrocks if they are really worth it. Previous owner had Bilstein shocks on it and they seemed ok. But they got old and began to leak and I had them replaced. I made the mistake of letting this jerk-off dealership talk me into getting AC Delco... over a year ago. And they ARE coming off ASAP. They were cheap, and that was a concern for me at the time. I have more funds now, so i'm looking to upgrade.

Any other suggestions? From what i read, i'm going with Edlebrock.

I don't care about wheel hop on rough roads or anything... Just balls out performance.

I need something stiff enough for "high speeds" and road and autocross courses.

I am trying to decide between Bilsteins and Konis... ? Can anyone voice in on this?

This is for a Bone stock '84...
Koni's, hands down for autox and road racing.
