New Tires for my LT-4

goodyear's

Get the Goodyear F1 GS-D3's or the Michelin Pilot sports if you can afford them.I love my d3's,zero hydroplaning in wet weather, sticky too.As well as great traction when dry.I havent found better prices than at www.tirerack.com for any brand tires.

Hello 354RWHPLT4CE,

See post #13 and what was your total mounted/demounted, out the door from Tire Rack?

Where do you live in Memphis? I used to live in Collierville way back in 1977-79 and Bartlett in 1997-1998 while working at Memphis Tower. Use to play pool at Bartlett Billiards!

Cool!I live out past Millington,in Brighton, but we are moving to Germantown in a few months.I am tired of driving so far,and its putting too many miles on my car!I bought my tires from the tire rack for $794.00 shipped(191.00 each),had all four mounted and balanced(hunter machine)for $83.00.That was the first time, had to buy two more for the rear(It's not what you think)and had to buy them in town for $269.00 each!

$794.00 shipped...
For what size & when?
Just curious as I am going to 285's (F1's) on all 4 corners and the best quote I've gotten so far is $1007.70 out the door from Discount Tire. That includes balancing on the Hunter 9700. (does not include free tire replacement)

Did you buy the warranty?

Advertised price on TR for 285's is $199 each ($796 for 4) w/o warranty (warranty $95)

Did you call and negotiate a better price by buying all 4?

Thx in advance,
Jeff

Cool, good to know. After reading this I spoke to my guy @ DT and he is determined to beat out TR's price no matter what so, we'll see.

BTW...I hear ya' on the "dyno tune" thing. I need to do the same w/ mine. It runs great but the idle's a little high and I can tell it's running rich. Never had the ECM reprogrammed since the mods hence I get the periodic SES light. AZ Speed & Marine is here in Phx (and from what I hear they do that kinda stuff) so that's next on my list as well as a dyno run to see where I'm at.

I envy you for living in Phoenix, man.I would be there myself(I love the Southwest) if the wife didnt want to move back to Kansas City(from there originally) for her family. At least I have Beale Street :puke .:L .

For year round 'vette driving, Phx is the place to be. :)
The funny thing about Phx is, the only time of year that you can't take the top off is summer. 110+ degrees! Looking back...black probably wasn't the wisest color choice....HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I always wanted a bada$$ black 'vette so I'll manage somehow. :L

I'd love a LT4CE (Z51), so I envy you for that!!

I went and got Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires last summer. They are very good in the rain and EXCELLENT in the snow (I KNOW). But, for the money i spent on those tires, i could have gotten a decent "beater" to drive in the winter. Thats the choice i made.

As far as dry traction, they are "ok" at best. They surprise me sometimes, but I dont have the confidence level i feel i should have with them. I dont push them. I had Goodyears on before this and they were excellent. Next set, i'm going back to Goodyears with either the F1 or GS-D3.

Lt4's are great!
