hi all... new member and first vette .. my car needed rear tires the fronts were new the fronts are goodyear eagle gsc the question is a tire guy wanted to sell me b/f googrich t/a for the rear shouldn't i keep the tires matching with goodyears or does anyone recomend any other ideas and how much should be spent on them thanks

:w Welcome aboard.

My personnel preference is to have matching rubber all around thereby having consistancy in wet/dry characteristics. Though I'm not a Goodyear fan, if the fronts are new I would buy matching rears and research other options next time out. You can do a search on tires as there have been many discussions/opinions posted here.

Black 96:cool Very nice

I don't think it matters much from a performance standpoint, but I am one that likes - for whatever reason - to keep the same tires on all four corners. Also, If you have the Goodyear GSC runflats (EMT), I would recommend staying with them. They are more expensive, but the peace of mind and knowing that you won't ruin a $300+ rim in the process is worth it to me. By the way, I am replacing the front tires on my 96 Coupe tomorrow morning. The regular price, installed at the local Goodyear store, was going to be $320 each (installed and balanced) - the associate store is having a 2 day only sale and they will be priced about $70 less each!

I also like to keep matching rubber all the way around. I'm currently running GSC's but I do like BFGoodrich. I think when my GSC's wear down I might give Michelin's a try. Good luck
