First off, I would just like to say that in the short one week I've had of owning my Corvette *I've filled her gas tank up three times now lol* You all have helped me through some subtle issues with her. Let me tell you, the Vette has the easiest serpentine belt to change in the world!:beer

I bought the Corvette off criagslist last Tuesday. I paid only 2900 for her and have already spent another thousand on her. For a 2900 dollar car, she's in great shape. I do need to repaint her, but I'm waiting until I know her engine is in tip top shape.

And yes, she has been washed sine the last pic :D. As you can tell, the gauge cluster is my next job to tackle!

Thank you all for all the wonderful info you all have posted on this site. Giving the fact that I have a crossfire injection engine, something tells me that i'll come back to this site often.

Welcome! Lots of good knowledge here!

Just look at those curves. Gotta be female. Or else I'm driving a drag queen ;help

I thought it was man law to call your cars girls:rotfl. Thank you all for the welcome. I just joined the Kansas City Corvettes Association. I have my first meeting tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it!

Again, thank you all for the comments! I do plan on painting "the vette" *I won't use *her* anymore:chuckle" The same color of blue. The color just seems to fit the car. I am new to the Vette world and I've heard so many horror stories about the crossfire. Are they all true?

I am very lucky to find such a great deal on this car. I'm a 21 year old who had a kid at the age of 19. Through all the financial struggles I've Managed to finance my family's car, I've kept my own place for two years, I'm going to school for EMT, and I have a wonderful fiance who alowes me to induldge into my love of cars. I was looking for an old Camero and typed in the word Corvette for S and Gs. Sure enough, this beauty popped up.

Besides, My boy once in school will be picking up all the chicks from school to ride around in the Vette. i'm looking out for my son's best intrest:boogie.

I started off my corvette ownerships with an 84' (with a crossfire). Your pics sure bring back some good memories. Here we are 8 years later and I'm on my 3rd Vette. I just wish I would have bought one when I was your age. I missed out on many years of this pleasure.

Welcome to CAC and enjoy :louthat Vette!

Sounds to me that your tryin' to make good choices in life.

As far as crossfire all the stories you've heard are not true .But then a lot are.:L Welcome again and good luck.

Welcome aboard, take your time with "her", and "she'll" treat you right. Sounds as though you got a pretty good deal for your $2900.

WOW!! $2900!! That is a steal! The car looks nice. Is that your Supra in the garage? Enjoy the vette, it never gets old driving them around.:beer

Nope, The picture with the Supra was taking at the guys house who I bought the vette from. If I was going to drop 40 grand on a car, I'd drop it on some good old american muscle, say a c5:cool.

Corvette

welcome to CAC. I own a Mercedes Benz S500, but I must say driving a Corvette is something else.

Welcome! It really IS fun to fix up your vette and get it looking better once again!

Actually, you may be driving a tranny...and you do have one after all! ;-) It has been said that its really designed to be a giant phallic symbol to attract the ladies. Of course some would say men buy it to make up for their own lack of "size" or to fullfill their latent homosexuality :boogie

Congrats!!

Congrats on your ride. Mine is also an 84 Crossfire, Z51, 4+3. I have had mine about one year and love it. I haven't had any issues other than a clutch master cylinder. But my reverse is getting weak, so something will have to be done soon about that. But I love the car. It is a ball to drive. Congrats again and enjoy your ride!

Congrats on the purchase.

She looks like a beauty :thumb :thumb

I've had my crossfire since i was 24, get used to comments about Daddy buying you the car and all that. :L Just laugh at them, they are jealous. :L

Re the crossfire: They have a bad rep, but if they are treated right and tuned properly, they dont give you any trouble. We have a Crossfire section for us L-83 engine guys (82 and 84 share the engine): CrossFire Injection Mine - Corvette Action Center

Ask any question, we're here to help. :thumb
