Hey Folks, New to this forum but will be hanging around more now that I'm the owner of C4. This will keep my C3 company. Still can't believe we now have 2 Vettes. To go along with my 81 4 -speed I now have a 94 6 - speed Convertible. Its Red/Black w/Black top and the factory hardtop. Had it for 4 days now and still grinning! But I do have one question/problem, does the electronic climate control have a tendency to be a problem? Mine seems to work fine at times but sometimes I push the off button and nothing happens. If i play around with some of the other buttons and then hit off it works fine. It seems to work fine at start up but starts to act funny as everything warms up? Any comments? I know I'll be checking back often on this forum to get advice. Thanks , ZAL81

welcome to :CAC and congrats on 2 vette's! i cant answer u question tho, becuase ive never owned a car or have any mechanical training

Same Problem

ZAL...weeeeelcome! Congrats on the new "Baby" My 95 has the same "problem" I found that if I have mine set on "auto"...that I must push one of the other buttons...getting it off of auto...before the "off" button works. Haven't looked at my owners manual...guess that'd be a place to start, no??....but, did get it to turn off this way. I also have the same problem with adjusting the temp...if it's on "auto" got to punch one of the other buttons, get it off of auto before I can change the temp.... hope this helps. WELCOME!

Thanks for the welcome guys,

newbie, it sounds like yours is doing exactly the same thing as mine. I have checked the owners manual and its no help. Still wondering if this a common problem or not. Guess I'll have to sit down and start studying the service manual and see if that tells me anything. ZAL81

Try pulling the head unit out and cleaning the contacts.. mine does the same thing just have not had time to pull it apart but I've read this may be the fix..

Hi ZAL and welcome! My '93 works the same way. Never thought it to be a problem just a pain.It seems to me that the "auto" means just that .when it is in that mode everything concerning that functioin is "set".To get into a manual mode you have to get out of that function by pressing another button.I checked my shop manual and didn't see anything ,but then again i miss exits on the interstate all the time. KEEP WAVIN':W dennis
