Hello all. Just picked up a 92 convertible. It's an abuse case, paint falling off, needs interior work. But for $5500.00 I couldn't pass it up. Hope to restore it. It's my first vette so the questions will start flowing. This is a great site by the way.

mfi,
congrats on the ’92, first year of the LT1, a great year. Is it a manual or a 6 speed? How about the body, interior and top color?

Not sure how familiar you are with the opti spark, but avoid getting the opti wet by washing the engine. You can learn about the optispark through the search function here on the CAC. Its been a reoccurring topic that all LT series owners need to be aware of.

Thanx. Its polo green with a beige top and interior. Automatic so the wife can have a little fun too. The top is new, so are the seats. The paint is falling off so it needs a paint job. I have read about 500 posts about the car on this site. No water getting near this engine. Cleaned it by hand with wd-40 and vinyle cleaner for the rubber parts. Already changed out the serpentine belt and changed the oil with the help from this site. Has a nasty shake from 50 to 60 mph. Going to the ubermechanic on monday for a full checkup. Will do all the rest myself if possible. Interior needs work, weatherstripping around doors gone. That looks like fun. Pics will come as soon as I take them.

Sounds like you’ve got it all covered, it’ll be fun bringing it back to 100%, it’s a rewarding experience.
