Just had a new windsheild installed because mine cracked when I washed it the other day. Now I have a big leak dripping from the rear view mirror. I took off the top and looked at the rubber molding. It has a significant hole on the passengers side and is coming up right above the mirror. My question is, Do you think it is the molding or something else. It never leaked from there before. By the way, no metal or rubber molding was replaced when the windsheild was fixed. I was told you may have to replace some type of molding when the windsheild is replaced, but not always. Thanks for all your help. ;)

To get off the windshield first one have to detach the windshield weatherstrip, then unscrew outer 3 pcs metal moldings LH, RH and Upper one. Once did one will see naked windshield frame. In my case windshield was glued to frame - so it took me hard sweating for deassemble that. The assembly is opposite way but I recommend to apply a layer of Loctite or 3M urethane adhesive in between windshield and each molding to avoid possible water leakage. Try to apply the stripe of adhesive as thin as possible to make the construction further repairable, otherwise next time you cannot deattach the moldings without breaking them.
Hope this helps...

It seems to me that whoever installed the windshield for you should be responsible for correcting a leak.

If this was a do-it-yourself job, please ignore this post.
