This forum is amazing. Thank you all for your infinite wisdom, and entertainment in some cases. I have a question about my '91 Coupe with Z07 option.

It seems that a '91 with Z07 is somewhat rare, but my budget is tight. Should I do away with the FX3? If so, what are my options for shocks?

I feel I should suck it up and send in my FX3 shocks, but I have to deal with the actuators too. I think I only have one bad. How much is a new actuator and where can I get it?

Any comments, suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Yeap. 91 was the first year for Z07 and only 733 were ordered.

I replaced actuators recently via the GM/Chevy parts chain - around $400 each. OUCH!!
You can get new FX3 shocks from Mid America for $200 each.

Or you could go with standard shocks and disconnect the SRC controller - disable the idiot lights. If you do that, consider installing the Z51 Bilstein shocks from the 96.

Can you tell me what the Z07 option is? I have the fx3 on my 91 coupe but don't see reference to Z07.

Thanks

Z07

Z07 is a combination of Z51 (not offered in 91), FX3, J55 13" brakes, HD bushings, and oil cooler. It is basically a Z51 with adjustable shocks instead of the Z51 spec Bilsteins. I didn't know the answer until I found CAC. Thanks again fellas!

Check your RPO list - under the console lid or under the rear compartment lid.

BTW, there were 6800+ FX3 cars in 91.
